Why go traveling? Why take that new job offer? Why go on that date? Whether you’re asking yourself this or someone else is, there is always the question why.
Now the truth is, i’m a ‘reason person’, someone who likes to know the whys. Someone why likes to know the benefits and outcomes of doing something. Someone who whats to understand the logic to help decide said thing. (I am an INTP after all).
The problem with this though is it can course a lot of unnecessary anxiety and pressure. Weighing up the pros and cons and trying to find reasons why you should do something isn’t really fun or satisfying especially when you can’t find any good reasons.
But lets use a metaphor. Yoga for example. I love yoga, I practice it everyday. Now there are tones of benefits to yoga (believe me I’ve don’t my research) but the truth of the matter is I do it because I love it, I love the way it makes me feel during and after. My mind and body is telling me to do it, so I do because I feel like doing it because I want to, And that’s the only reason I need.
So it all comes down to your intuition. The only question you need to ask yourself is, do you want to do it? Ultimately what is your heart telling you. Doing this will build your trust with your intuition, you won’t need to find logic and reasons as to why. Don’t listen to your ego listen to your heart. As clique as it sounds it’s helps me. Take the chance listen to yourself and afterwards you will look back and say i’m glad I went on that date, I met the love of my life, or I learnt something about myself or I had a fun time, you’ll find reason afterwards why it was a good idea, because you’ll never truly know the benefits until after anyway. So listen to your intuition, it knows best.
